We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with big data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and Apache Hadoop.
• ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and storage using Python library for Apache Spark (PySpark).
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Assist in designing and maintaining storage solutions such as data warehouses, data lakes.
• Write and optimize PySpark and SQL scripts for efficient data extraction and processing.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data solutions into applications and workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide support for ad-hoc data requests, ensuring timely delivery of required datasets or reports.
• Monitor data pipelines for performance, failures, and optimization opportunities.
• Assist in documentation of data models, business rules, and data lineage to enhance transparency and maintainability using Confluence.
• Occasionally contribute to data science tasks, such as exploratory data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, or predictive modelling when needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex business and technical environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases.
• Basic understanding of the programming language Python.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Airflow or Talend.
• Understanding of data modelling, database design, and normalization.
• Understanding of distributed data processing frameworks.
• Proficiency in English.

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES AND SKILLS WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ADVANTAGE:
• Experience with version control systems (Git/Bitbucket) and continuous deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Python visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Familiarity with basic machine learning concepts such as clustering, regression, classification, dimensionality reduction.
• Experience in the marketing field or telecommunication sector.
