Program overview:

Duration: 6 months

Working time: Part-time or Full-time (Flexible schedule)

Location: IBM Client Innovation Center - Sofia Airport Center

Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite, 2 days home office

Paid Internship + Standard Benefits package

Expected start: June/ July 2025

Your role and responsibilities

As Software Development Intern you will join a team focused on developing tools for automation, analytics, reporting and proactive activities to help our Technical Support engineers deliver first class remote and onsite services. You will get the opportunity to work alongside top developers, gaining essential knowledge. You will be working on real projects under the guidance of experienced developers to gain practical skills and knowledge in the field.

Main tasks you will focus on:

You will assist the experienced developers in writing and maintaining code and with the running of the code on IBM Cloud
You will assist in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards
You will learn and understand how to document the high-level design of the microservices
As DevOps Intern you will learn how to interpret online manuals regarding IBM code and application interfaces by communicating with international Build Team and DevOps technical leaders.
You will develop and demonstrate expertise in IBM software development practices, DevOps methodologies or test scenarios.

You will practice how to:

Apply DevOps principals in the build and service process
Directly serving IBM’s product development and test groups – hundreds of engineers across operating system and middleware and application layer software engineers
Develop, test, and deploy tools and services to assist products during their lifecycle of development and test activities – development ‘nightly’ builds and final product release for external customers

Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
Recent graduate or University student in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or similar field
Fluency in English – both verbal and written
Ability to communicate effectively with a customer-oriented attitude
Preferred technical and professional experience
