ABOUT US
Today, 1-StopAsia (formerly 1-Stop Translation) has four offices worldwide in LA, China, Korea and Bulgaria and more than 150 employees, but it still bears the clear philosophy and imprint of its founder and CEO, Don Shin.

WHY WORK WITH 1-STOP
1. Proven Satisfaction and Reliable History among Peer Translators:
Since 1998, 1-StopAsia (f.k.a. 1-Stop Translation) has worked with over 1,000 translators who have expressed their great satisfaction in working with us. Please see our testimonials page to read what they have to say and learn more about our reputation among freelance translators.

2. On-Time Payment and Flexible Terms:
At 1-StopAsia we are proud of the fact that we’ve always made payment to all of our translators on time. We also have flexible payment terms, including immediate or expedited payments. Please refer to our Flexible Payment Terms page.

3. Responsive and Attentive:
We attentively listen to our translators and make our best efforts to meet their needs. Here at 1-StopAsia we wish to keep in close touch with our freelance translators. That’s why we hold regular information sessions and receptions to listen to our freelance translators’ troubles, complaints, and any requests they may have. Our primary goal in holding such meetings is to reflect on what our translators have to say and try to improve together.

Providing a positive and collaborative working environment will motivate translators, and it is our certain belief that motivated translators are the ones who produce an overall higher quality of translation. In the end, the higher translation quality will satisfy our clients, so it is truly a win-win strategy for all involved.

Freelance translators can also contact our project and resource managers whenever they need any kind of help. We’re always available for any problems regarding CAT tool usage, translation style, or even deadline extensions due to quality issues.

4. Training and Feedback:
All of our translators are experienced professionals. However, like all other specialists in today’s society, professional translators must continuously expand their knowledge and hone their skills. At 1-StopAsia we watch, edit and review each and every project taken on by our translators and are happy to provide them with appropriate feedback and training.

We also offer our translators opportunities for specialization in a particular area of translation, e.g. legal, technical, or even literary field. A vast library of online resources is made available that includes CAT tool tips, standard style guides, FAQs, frequent mistake lists, glossaries and more.

IN-HOUSE
Our approach at 1-StopAsia is to work hand in hand with translators to assure your success. And when you’re successful, we’re successful.

It’s no secret that the success of a translation project rests largely in the hands of the linguists who translate, edit, and proofread the work. It’s also true that every project manager wants to steer and ensure the success of her projects, but the more remote or obscure the language, the more uncertain the attainment of that goal.

For our most common languages — Chinese, Japanese, and Korean — we have in-house departments and language leaders  in our offices in the US, Korea, and China. About 80% of the linguistic work in these languages is done by our in-house teams, and the remaining work in those and other languages is completed by freelance linguists.

FREELANCEWe like our freelance linguists (and, by the way, they like us, too) because we know we can trust them. They’ve earned our trust because they must meet our stringent application requirements (three years of proven experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent) before even attempting to pass our company-internal test. This test is evaluated by the leads of our in-house translation departments or by well-qualified outside partners.

We require excellent proficiency in written and spoken English from our freelance partners, but we have also found that clear communication in our native target languages helps clear many potential hurdles. This is why we made the strategic decision to hire only native Chinese, Japanese, and Korean speakers as our three vendor managers as well as all our project managers.

At 1-StopAsia, we will do anything to take the uncertainty out of the equation.
